Environmental protection and natural resources management
AID Supports communities to respond and cope with the realities of the environment, climate change and achieve resilient livelihoods through a number of activities.
Some of the activities under this area include:
Increasing awareness on sustainable natural resources management and climate change mitigation and adaptation mechanisms
Increasing incomes for rural households through engagement in sustainable natural resource based enterprise value chains
Increasing awareness on sustainable natural resources management and climate change mitigation and adaptation mechanisms
Provision of Improved practices for sustainable utilization and management of natural resources
Supporting in fruit tree growing and agro-forestry promotion in institutions at Sub County
and District levels and among community groups within the local communities for
multiple uses
Engaging the targeted Districts and Sub Counties in formulation of ordinances and bylaws in Sustainable Environment and Natural Resource Management (SENRM)
Engaging target districts and Sub Counties in increased budget allocations on Sustainable Environment and Natural Resource Management (SENRM)
Increasing knowledge and skills in the utilization of efficient and sustainable clean energy technologies and services
Restoration of landscapes, catchments and other degraded areas within the targeted communities.
Advocacy and awareness on Disaster Risk Reduction and management in different sectors of the economy
Facilitate development of disaster management plans to enhance adequate response to natural disasters
Creation of linkages with disaster management bodies to promote natural disaster risk strategies
Development of effective advocacy engagements for sustainable natural resources management and climate change adaptation
Participation in the regional, National and international level negotiations on carbon credit markets
